It’s time for a facelift at StreetPX
We hope you enjoyed our recent talk with Vineet Vohra, a magnificent speaker with a wealth of information to share. It was a long time coming and we were very proud to get him in the studio. Additionally, we probably laughed more throughout this recording than most. If you haven’t yet tuned in, we suggest you hit that play button.
With this release, you may have also noticed some changes around here… our logo and album cover for instance.
It’s worth noting, our show has grown quite a bit since October and continues to do so month over month. In that time, our original branding started to get a bit, dare we say, tired and awkward. Truth be told, the original was a rush job, something to attach to the show and get us underway. A representation of our original equipment.
Now that some months’ have past and we starting to getting a grasp on what it is we want to do (well, as best our random nature will allow, lol), we came to the conclusion that a refresh was in order. Something more fitting and, well, let’s be honest… more easily identifiable.
We admit, the original was an odd concept. Kind of a microphone, with the stance of an oddly shaped ostrich.
During the last month, many options were drafted, weighed and pondered. But the old adage “K.I.S.S.” (Keep-It-Simple-Stupid) proved the best path to take.
There were three specific elements we desired in a new logo. Paramount among them; our orange and black/white color theme, a microphone of some sort and our beloved little aperture symbol. Of which we admit, was nearly unrecognizable in the previous iteration.
Toss all that in a bowl, with a dash of simplicity and roundy-lowercasiness, stir and voila… a new logo for our show.
It doesn’t seem like much, but simplicity can sometimes be quite the difficult path. Consider for a moment, the seemingly easy task of deciding on simply the mic stand in the icon.
… and that was only a few versions of the mic base. Casper went waaaay down a rabbit hole on that one… 😉 In the end, as you can see, keeping it simple won out again!
Anyway, we hope you dig the new design…
Oh, and if not, Casper also acts as design overlord around here, so any issues you may have with the change, feel free to let him have it at email@example.com or in the comments below. 🙂
Now, join us over at the Lounge and throw in your two cents on a few of the discussions.
